Dr. Kate Quinn, DVM
Dr. Kate Quinn graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in1988. She has gained extensive experience as both an associate and practice owner. With a large family and many pets, she is a strong advocate for pets as family members. We work hard to maintain en excellent staff. Our staff is a GREAT team, with the right mix of skills and backgrounds, and has been carefully chosen to provide the best care for your pet.
Amber Kolenic, LVT
Amber Kolenic became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2004. She moved to the Port Huron area in 2015 from North Dakota, but originates from West Michigan. She joined our team in the fall of 2016. She has a great passion for animals large and small. Her number one goal as an LVT is helping owners achieve quality care and longevity of their pets. When she is not caring for the patients at the clinic, she is enjoying time with her husband, daughter, and son. Amber is also extensively involved in horses. She loves to show and teach her daughter how to ride. She became a Certified Equine Massage Therapist in 2016. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses, and pony. Amber looks forward to meeting you and your pet at your next visit to the clinic.
Jami Strickler, Assistant
Jami Strickler attended SC4 as well as Central Michigan University. She has been a veterinary assistant since 2004. Prior to that time, her experience was in retail management. She has always had a soft side for animals and is thrilled to be involved in a vocation that deals directly with animal welfare. Since she started in the veterinary field she has accumulated an extensive animal family that keeps her, her husband, Scott Alexander, and their two children, very busy and very entertained.
Carolyne Nowawski, Assistant
Carolyne Nowawski started here with us in the fall of 2016 as a Veterinary Assistant. She came to us with a love and passion for animal care that was undeniable. Carolyne has a special place in her heart for cats/ kittens in need. She has fostered and homed over 25 cats and counting!! She would like to further her knowledge and become a LVT in the near future. Carolyne has five animals of her own who she loves spending her free time with. Her two dogs, Tilly and Aspen. Her two cats, Binx and Leia, and last but not least her Dwarf Rabbit Buddy!
Shelby Ostrand, Receptionist
Shelby Ostrand is a local Cros-Lex graduate who started with us in January 2017 as a receptionist. Shelby is the perfect description of an "Animal Lover." Her heart, love, and passion to help any animal or little creatures there are, is why she fits perfect in our clinic. When Shelby is not snuggling all of the patients at the clinic she is spending time adventuring with her husband James, and son Silas. The three of them have three fur baby companions. Her two dogs Brody, Lola and her cat Lucy!
