Dr. Kate Quinn, DVM
Dr. Quinn graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in1988. She has gained extensive experience as both an associate and practice owner. With a large family and many pets, she is a strong advocate for pets as family members. We work hard to maintain an excellent staff. Our staff is a GREAT team, with the right mix of skills and backgrounds, and has been carefully chosen to provide the best care for your pet.
Amber Kolenic, LVT
Amber became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2004. She moved to the Port Huron area in 2015 from North Dakota, but originates from West Michigan. She joined our team in the fall of 2016. She has a great passion for animals large and small. Her number one goal as an LVT is helping owners achieve quality care and longevity of their pets. When she is not caring for the patients at the clinic, she is enjoying time with her husband, daughter, and son. Amber is also extensively involved in horses. She loves to show and teach her daughter how to ride. She became a Certified Equine Massage Therapist in 2016. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses, and pony. Amber looks forward to meeting you and your pet at your next visit to the clinic.
Kirsten Miller, LVT
Kirsten became a licensed Veterinary Technician in 2014. At a young age Kirsten had a passion for animals. Kirsten is from the Port Huron area where she is an active volunteer for children in the community. She enjoys playing softball and tennis, as well as watching sports. Kirsten has four fur babies; two dogs, Maggie and Millie, and two cats, Gracie and Anya. We welcomed Kirsten to the BVC family fall of 2019. She is looking forward to meeting and caring for the furry members of your family!
Amy Gardner, Assistant
Amy is another Michigan State Graduate. It was there she majored in zoology. She worked at the Detriot Zoo for 7 years as a penguin keeper before she and her family decided to move back to the Croswell area where she and her husband Keith grew up. Amy joined the team February 2019. She has 3 children, Addison, Brecon and Evelynn, a dog named Loki and two cats named Ivy and paws.
Carolyne Nowawski, Assistant
Carolyne has been with the Burtchville Clinic Staff since October 2016 as a Receptionist/Assistant. With a brief absence in 2019, she has rejoined us part time! Carolyne lives in the Lexington area with her boyfriend, Scott. Together they have three dogs, Milo, Aspen, Tilly and one cat Binx! They enjoy their weekends off in Hale, sitting on the pontoon or by the fire. Carolyne loves spending time with family, especially her godson, Emery. She has a love for all animals big, small, furry, and scalely...but if it slithers, NO THANKS! ☺ She can't wait to assist Dr. Quinn with the care of your beloved pet.
Shelby Ostrand, Receptionist
Shelby is a local Cros-Lex graduate who started with us in January 2017 as a receptionist. Shelby is the perfect description of an "Animal Lover." Her heart, love, and passion to help any animal or little creatures there are, is why she fits perfect in our clinic. When Shelby is not snuggling all of the patients at the clinic she is spending time adventuring with her husband James, and two sons Silas and Myles. The four of them have nine fur baby companions. Her three dogs: Brody, Lola and Darwin. And the kitty cats: Lucy, Josie, Willie, Margot and Louie. Can't forget about the ferret, little mister Dewey!!
Amanda Neahusan, Receptionist
Amanda is another Pioneer graduate who lives locally with her high school sweet-heart of 11 years, who recently PROPOSED♥ Together they have one spoiled rotten Pitbull named Tiva and 5 hens! Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors whether it be hiking, traveling, fishing or attending a good concert! She looks forward to meeting you and your companions.
Shari Furness, Receptionist
Shari grew up on a family-owned dairy farm and has worked with animals ever since! She is a graduate of Baker College with a degree in accounting. She loves playing in her family band and relaxing at home with her mutt, Buster! She looks forward to snuggling you fur-babies!
